Gene and Marian DeShazer started Coastal Aluminum Screen Co. in
mid 1967 with $1000 and a dream. The first location was on Bingle Rd. in a small rented space.
By the early 70's, the business had grown so much that a warehouse
space had to be rented, and very soon afterwards the business had to be moved from Bingle Rd. to a larger building on Ojeman
Rd.
Coastal Aluminum Screen Co. has always been a family affair. The
DeShazer children were all very much involved with the family business as soon as they showed an interest in participating.
Along with family, many friends also joined in the focused effort towards success, and formed a close group that even now
remains in touch with a tie of love and loyalty that has weathered time and will not be broken.
Coastal Aluminum Screen Co. has persevered through economic hardships
and has enjoyed times of great profits as well. From booms through 'busts'- we're still here serving our old Gulf
Coast friends and new friends as well.
During the oil boom of the 70's, Coastal enjoyed such success as
to afford to build our own facility on West 43rd st. We spent many a profitable year there, but eventually found it more intelligent
to back off and wait to be needed again. We leased our space out, but we still operate- serving those who have depended on
us for all of these years.
Though we have downsized lately, and reside in our space
behind the main building on 43rd st., we are now looking ahead with hopes of moving back into our space on 7000 43rd st. soon!
Coastal Aluminum Screen Co. is now operated by Gene's grand daughter,
Diana DeShazer, and his daughter, Risa. The girls have learned much over the years and know the business inside out.
Gene, Larry and Bruce are still 'poking their heads in' when we want a little advice from the veterans.
We hope that you will bring your business to us like so many others
have over more than 40 years. We are here to serve you!
